A TESTIMONY

Blind from birth, Jane simply requested, "I want to see!"
We had spent the day hearing from the Linn Brothers teach us about healing. Now it was time to put the teaching into practice. Those who needed prayer for healing were instructed to rise from their theatre like seats and stand signifying their need.

The rest of the people were asked to gather around anyone near by, ask what the prayer need was and then lay their hands on the person and pray silently for 5 minutes for that person. “Be Jesus to the person,” was the instruction. What that meant I had no idea. In fact in some way I thought it was a bit presumptuous. 3 of us lined ourselves up around Jane, a tall 40ish woman near us- one each side of her in her row and myself reaching out over the seats in front of her.

On one side of her a short elderly priest, somewhat patronizingly, said, “Well dearie what can we do for you? Her reply was quiet and simple- “I want to see.” The priest was quite taken aback and the woman on the other side almost faded out of the picture. My scientific medical nurses mind said, “Impossible” Then I asked, “Do you just need to see better without glasses?” “No”, she said, “I have been blind since birth”. Then breaking through the sense of overwhelming helplessness came the leader's instructions again, “Get on with your praying and just be Jesus to whoever needs His healing”. In obedience we began.

In silence. 5 minutes at first seems like a long time! It was in that time that I heard God tell me how to pray. It was also in that time that I struggled and reasoned with God about why I couldn’t or shouldn’t do what I heard Him saying. Very clearly I heard Him say “Lay your hands upon her eyes”. “I can’t Lord! You know as an Anglican I’m not to do the Laying on of Hands and especially on the head.” “Lay your hands on her eyes”, came the persistent charge over and over again.

After what seemed like an eternity (in actual fact only a couple of minutes) I gave in and laid my right hand across her eyes. That moment for me was a profound experience of God - a real theophany! Then breaking through the awe came some more instructions from the front of the room - “Check with the person with whom you are praying and see where she or he is at”. We all opened our eyes and to our amazement Jane read my first name which was in larger print on my name tag. She said, “I can only read your first name. Your last name reminds me of the story of how the blind man Jesus was in the process of healing saw trees walking!” We were awe struck to put it mildly!

Jane continued speaking directly to me, “You know when you put your hand on my eyes, it was not your hands I SAW but I SAW the hands of Jesus. I saw Him as soon as you touched me.” At this point further instructions were given- “If the healing isn’t complete pray more, continue to be Jesus - another 5 minutes.

We went back to silent prayer! With expectation this time! No hesitation about laying hands on her eyes! At the end of the 5 minutes Jane opened her eyes and read what she said was a clear first name and a slightly blurred last name. God had not only opened her eyes but had also taught her to read! Awesome!

STANDING IN FOR JESUS

Jesus said, Those that Believe SHALL cast out demons (Mark 16:17). If you obey this COMMAND, you become a Demonbuster. Are you a Believer? Yes or no? If you have a Christian Ministry, why are you not obeying this command of Jesus?
Acts 5:32 - And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost who God hath given to them THAT OBEY HIM. Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:20 - Teaching them to observe ALL things whatsoever I have COMMANDED you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Jesus commanded ALL Believers to cast out demons.

IN MY HUMBLLE OPINION

The largest blind spot of most modern churches is that the activity and influence of demons can be ignored.

A QUESTION

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

This says to me that Jesusr eceived the whole nine yards. So, wouldn't that include speaking in tongues?

The page hits to my website suddenly jumped from about 120 by an average per day to 2500 yesterday and is on the way up 600 today. Someones has posted my website to a large constituency for which I am very grateful I would appreciate it if they would let me know who they are.

here are times that God must foreclose on those things that we have bought into beyond what He has afforded us to pay for. Walking along the brink of bankruptcy on a presumed faith that results in begging for financial support is not stepping out in God's faith. It is ambition. If God ordains something to be done, He may not provide the means up front, but He will never be late in supplying it. God's provision does not require begging. If we find it necessary to beg, we have gotten ahead of God. Having to beg is the evidence that we have stepped out in presumption -- not faith.

PRAYER

prayer without testimonis of them being answered discourages their practice and reduces them to an empty ritual.

John the baptist introduced Jesus as the Baptizer in\with the Holy Spirit. This happened on the day of Pentecost -- the birthday of the church. it was the proof that Jesus was resurrected and had ascended to Heaven. Without this "birthday" there would be no church and Jesus' death and resurrection would have been in vain.
Yet, many churches, although they may give lip-service to the Holy Spirit, regard it as past, or not 'their "thing."
It seems natural for them to avoid the supernatural.
What is your church's excuse?

If we claim the Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Helper, Councelorr, and Guide,
should not it be normal to have Him communicate with us? Yet if we were to say that the Holy Spirit said this to me we would be regarded as being presumptious?

Hi Hal,
I don't know if you remember praying for me right after the superbowl back in February. At that time I asked you to pray for my lower back. It is doing a lot better now. I am believing God to do an even deeper work to the point of restoration. One thing I did notice is that when I receive prayer it seems to take a while to receive my healing. I haven't figured out if that means anything or not. I also noticed that on your website when you were believing God to heal you of cancer that you had to stand for quite a while before you started to see results. I wanted to thank you for making yourself available to people to call you for prayer. I have read many books on the subject of healing and it is one of my desires that God would use me to pray for others also.

Dear Hal, The lady you prayed for six months ago is ......whose name is confidential since she wishes that her name not be used in your testimonial. She is a seventy-year old lady who was diagnosed with cancer by her doctor and given six to nine months to live. You prayed for her when her sister called you up on the phone.
